Key Facts

Having been commissioned via a Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) to undertake site investigations at Newport House, a residential development located in Bow, London, Lawtech undertook the removal of the existing Trespa HPL balcony and walkway infill panels and replacement with new non-combustible aluminium façade panels. Newport House remained occupied throughout the project and, as such, constant emphasis was placed on ensuring the safety of the residents and minimising disruption.

Due to the scope of works and the size of the development, it was decided that the works could be carried out more efficiently via abseiling. Site surveys were conducted prior to the installation of abseiling access equipment and abseil level 3 technicians carried out thorough inspections. Only fully trained and competent operatives holding IRATA qualifications were used to conduct the works to ensure both the safety of the operatives and high quality workmanship.

Following the works, one of the directors at Clarion expressed that they were impressed with the use of abseilers, further noting that it was less disruptive for the residents.
