Mottram Towers, Stockport
Lawtech was engaged as the Principal Contractor to undertake an energy efficiency improvement programme to 1,050 properties across a range of occupied three-storey tenements and high-rise towers. The properties were spread across the Stockport area and required a high level of planning to complete successfully to budget and on time. The scope of works included:
- 40,000m2 of rainscreen and EWI
- External Repairs
- Roof Replacement
- Replacement Heating
- Balcony Repairs
- Biomass Pods
This project was completed in partnership with British Gas to deliver a major Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) funded scheme.
Stockport Homes wished to make a visual statement on the skyline of the city by cladding the landmark Mottram Towers with a Rockpanel rainscreen façade system in a high-specification Chameleon metallic finish. This was mounted on aluminium rails with a Rockwool Duo Slab insulation fixed between. New aluminium-profiled windows were installed to match.
The project was nominated for the Project Enterprise Awards, where it was ‘highly commended’.
